I introduced this puzzle to JY some days before CNY. And she loves to play this piece.
The reason being, it is ABC related. She will definitely sing the ABC alphabet song until the ending with "now we learnt our ABC, next time won't you sing with me". She can sing the whole song, but she can't fix the puzzle in sequences.
Another reason for her to like this puzzle is that it is considered very challenging for her.
Why am I said so?
Looking in to it, it could be a very simple puzzle, but it is tricky in fact. I had bought this long time ago since last year around Oct' 2009. from KL. And I in fact did expose it to her at that time, but she don't really enjoy it.
The puzzle do require good finger motion skill and she felt very frustrated and keep throwing temple, that make me found that it is not easy to fix it at that time. I kept it for some time until recently before CNY, I took it out again, show it to her again.
This time around, her finger's motion are much matured and able to fix the puzzle, with less frustration.
The second tricks is that, it require you to remember ABC in sequences. Therefore, it required companionship. If you can't remember ABC sequences, then you can fix it. Obviously she like this also because mama for sure will accompany her and play together.
Every time, when she want to play this puzzle, she will for sure call me and ask me to sit together... with her gesture that showing me she need my help... I would need to remind her about the sequence, and sometime about the head and tail... it is really tough for her to play alone!
Surprisingly today, she shows a very big move... some of the sequences, she told and she fixed it by herself without me mentioned to her next alphabet.
